Steal, Kill and Destroy vs. Give, Live, and Create

 


The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10

John 10:10 gives us a very clear idea of the agenda of the Kingdom of God vs. the Kingdom of the enemy.  We can assume from reading about the agenda of the thief ( enemy ) that the agenda of God would be directly opposite.  Lets take each action and compare the agenda of both.

We have to realize that there is a measure of good and evil in the world, and that God's judgement is the measurement by which everyone will be judged.  Now lets look at some real world issues and see how God's word and agenda line up with current social issues.

Steal vs Give- The enemy is out to steal from you and your family.  If you there is anything good that you possess, the enemy is out to steal it out from under you.  Joy, peace, health, happiness, wholeness, possessions, relationships.  Lets contrast this to the goodness of God.  God is out to give you life and that you should have it more abundantly.  God is peace through your storm, God is Jehovah Jireh ( your provider ), he is the Healer and lover of your Soul.  He has great plans for you.  God will take what was stolen from you, and give back to you more than you can even comprehend.  He also loves a cheerful giver, and wants to use your life to positively effect the lives of others.  God wants you to give of your talents and resources to help others out when they are in need.

Kill vs Give Life- The enemy's agenda is to kill human life.  He is always looking to take life or end life because he wants to limit God's plan and purposes for life in general.  This is why abortion, murder, and homosexuality all fall under this category.  Homosexuality--really? You may be asking yourself, "Being gay or homosexual does not mean that I am killing anyone?"  The homosexual issue goes against the process of naturally creating life.  As humans, you must have a man and woman to naturally procreate.  God designed humans like this on purpose. Men and women compliment each other in every way ( spiritually, emotionally, and physically)  God's ultimate plan for the sexual relationship has always been mean for a husband and wife ( man and a woman ).  This is His original intent, and He has not changed on this issue.  A homosexual couple cannot naturally create a sperm and an egg and make a new life that has the genetics of both parents.  God's design is beautiful and precious as He is the giver and sustainer of life.  I would also argue that the most large families have a husband and wife as the parents, and not homosexual parents.  One may also argue that if someone would choose a natural sexual relationship ( husband and wife ), there is greater potential to procreate and therefore would have a greater chance of bringing forth new life.  

The issue of abortion...Since God is the creator and sustainer of life, He is always in favor of human life being created.  Every life is precious to God.  The enemy wants try to kill life even in the womb, and that has led to the second holocaust..this time the holocaust of the unborn.  Check out this short film if you have some time.  It will give you a new perspective on this issue.  


God is pro-life because He loves his creation, and wants to have relationship with His creation.  He also wills that everyone would look to Him for the purpose of life, and in return He wants to give abundant life.  

Destroy vs. Create-The thief is always out to destroy lives.  This is evident in all the natural and man-made disasters and disease that we see every day.  The enemy want to take every beautiful thing on this earth and eliminate it.  God is the ultimate creator, and loves to create.  In turn, he loves when humans are creative and make new wonderful things.  A synonym for creativity is productivity.  God loves it when people are active, and work hard at what they do.  He will bless hard work with abundance, but will punish the lazy.  

Let's look at some common occurrences in everyday life.

War-destruction ( enemy )

Peace -life (God)

Disease - death ( enemy )

Health - life ( God )

Lies - destroying the truth ( enemy )

Truth - ( God )

Slavery and human trafficking- stealing of freedom ( enemy )

Freedom - creation of free will ( God )

Thanks for reading through this.  I hope this gives you something to think about when you look at the issues of today.  I would encourage you to side with God and the Bible on these issues, and not go on how you feel about them.  God is good and He is the truth.  He will judge the world by his righteous right standard.  I want my standards and beliefs to line up with his, and I hope you want the same.  I encourage you to seek the heart of the Father, and if you do not have a relationship with Him, I would pray that you would come to the saving grace of Jesus.  He can save you today, and give you life more abundantly.

Hovering over the Waters--Genesis 1:2

 The other day I was speaking to the girls about baptism and what makes it such an important event in the life of a believer.  As I was thinking of baptism and stories about water, I felt God directing my thoughts to a scripture in the beginning of the Bible that I never linked to baptism before.  Bear with me, this may be a bit of a stretch, but I believe God likes to stretch our thoughts and reveal new things to us using his word. Genesis 1:2 The earth was  without form, and void; and darkness  was  on the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
