Psalms of David

I like reading the Psalms of David.  Not only are they beautifully written, but they attribute so wonderful the different attributes of God and how we relate to God.  I always think about how the David in the Bible was a man after God's own heart.  I strive to be just like David in my relationship.  When I read scriptures like Psalm 23 it makes me introspect on where I am with my relationship with God.

A psalm of David.
1The lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the lord
forever.

I like to take this scripture and apply it back to my Spirit..Sometimes I will question myself in what I read...

Am I letting the Lord be my shephard?

Will God provide for all that I need? Do I really believe that?

 I am being led down the paths he wants me take? Am I bringing honor to his name?

 Would I be afraid if I were walking through the darkest valley? Do I really believe he will always protect me?

Am I doing what I should be doing so his anointment and blessings overflow in my life?

My prayer for today is that I and you truly will seek his face and follow in his ways. He promises to overflow your cup with blessings if we will follow him as our shepherd.
