The First Voice

John 8:47 (NLT)

Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”

It is vital for a believer to put God's voice first above any other voices.  You may have voices coming from friends, family, coworkers, or even yourself.  It is so easy to hear other voices so much that it can easily drown out the voice of the one that created you.

I love the example that Pastor Chad gave many years ago.  He brought in different types of television antennas onto the stage and made the point that we need to tune in on the channel that God was on.  We have to tune in the the same frequency or wavelength that God is broadcasting in our lives.  At the same time we have to block out all the interference and noise that is getting in our way of hearing God's voice clearly.

What kind of interference is getting in your way of hearing God's voice clearly?  Do you even have time to sit in silence and listen to his still small voice?

I think that life can get so busy at times that it can be very hard for us to take a step back and bask in his presence.  He wants to speak to you today, just sit quiet, tune your dial to his channel, and listen for what he has to say to you!
